FINAL POST
1. I did a lot of lab work. Most of the work at the beginning involved exploring the video games to find the right camera angle and the right situation where you could study a video well. The second phase involved analyzing each of the videos with the correct parameters and using equations for those parameters to create graphs. For the most part, I used information I already knew because all the parameters I used were from things we learned first semester. I did use trigonometry that I hadn't used in Physics yet in my soccer video for projectile motion. 2.The goals of my project, in stages, went like this:
*Think and research video games that will work, find information on characters in those video games.
*Get those games into a situation where I can study the parameters I need, including camera angle.
*Tape the screen while i'm playing the video game using iMovie. This took a while because again, you need
to create the perfect situation to analyze.
* Analyze all the videos using logger pro and create graphs and type analyses.
*Make a video that shows the analyses and explains what is happening and how realistic it is. 3. This project did a good job of getting me out of the classroom because video games are something that is very relevant to the real world. I was at home studying these video games, and then my analysis happened in the classroom. I really liked this project and the balance of inside/outside of class. It might have been tough if i couldn't have gone home during class to work on the video games, though. It would've just required more time at night then. 4. Well, I really liked what I did, and completed what the project asked. I think I presented it in a way that people can really see what's going on and how I studied the games, but also in a way that you, my teacher, can see the work I did and look at those analyses deeper. Also, I think I did a good job of making everyhing as accurate as possible, being specific with taping and with the weights and distances I found. What I didn't do is research Physics in Video Games like I was supposed to in week one. I just didn't see that as necessary to the final result of communicating what I found to the viewer of my movie and I had other things to do that week :). So I think the project itself deserves an A, but it could be marked down for the fact that I neglected that part.
